Report on Receptor Modelling Based Source Apportionment Study of Ambient Particulate Matter in Patna City, Bihar

Systematic assessment of ambient air quality and quantification of sources of pollution is a prerequisite for taking necessary measures for control. The ‘Receptor Modelling-based Source Apportionment (SA) Study of Ambient Particulate Matter (PM) of Patna City (Bihar) in 2020-21 study is a comprehensive evaluation of the concentration of particulate matter (PM) in the air, which is emitted from various sources in and around the city. The 2020-2021 SA study was carried by The Energy Resources Institute (TERI) and the Centre for Environment, Energy and Climate Change at Asian Development Research Institute (CEECC, ADRI). This was supported by the Bloomberg Philanthropies and guided by the Bihar Pollution Control Board (BSPCB).
The 2020-21 SA study is complimenting the findings from the SA study (using the Dispersion Modelling method) of Patna city carried out in 2018-2019 by CSTEP and CEECC, ADRI.
