Position

Senior Analyst – Geospatial & Remote Sensing

Number of Positions: One

Duration: One year (extendable subject to performance and project availability)

Eligibility

Required Qualifications:

•         PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Application, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology with exposure to GIS, or equivalent.

•         Strong skills in spatial data management, map creation, visualizations, and database interaction/modification using SQL.

•         Knowledge of research methodology, diseases and their risk factors, India’s health system structure and functions, climate change and resilience, social equity, and innovations.

•         Excellent oral and written communication skills, including scientific writing.

•         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and programming.

•         Capability in qualitative and quantitative data analysis using statistical software.

•         Demonstrable experience in developing research proposals and scientific publications.

Desirable Qualifications:

•         Experience in study design, preparation of research tools, analytical plan development, content writing, data analysis, and scientific manuscript preparation.

•         Knowledge of health statistics, statistical methods, epidemiology, and health systems.

Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst – Geospatial & Remote Sensing will conduct research under the guidance of the supervisor, focusing on spatial data management, geospatial analysis, and related tasks, including but not limited to the following:

Provide technical expertise:

•         Design, analyze, and report research findings with emphasis on spatial data management, geospatial analysis, database design, data visualization, and SQL querying/scripting.

•         Ensure efficiency, quality, and timeliness in research deliverables.

•         Develop study designs for quantitative and qualitative assessments.

•         Prepare sampling frames, tools, and instruments relevant for indicators of interest.

•         Manage pre-testing and cognitive testing of tools/instruments for research studies and innovations.

•         Oversee data processing, including preparation of data entry software, supervision of entry operations, back-checking, and cleaning.

•         Prepare analytical reports for project components.

•         Interpret and communicate findings in line with study objectives and program goals.

Operational Management and Capacity Building:

•         Train data collectors, supervisors, and relevant personnel on methodology, tools, and protocols through classroom and on-the-job training.

•         Ensure effective documentation of project efforts, learnings, and achievements.

•         Ensure all communication from research projects adheres to ethical guidelines and organizational values.

•         Assist in preparing annual reports, case studies, briefs, and presentations to disseminate outcomes and learnings.

•         Manage relationships with vendors/consultants, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables at reasonable cost.

Other Responsibilities:

•         Synthesize learnings from various sites into a common information-sharing module.

•         Prepare slide decks and reports for government stakeholders.

•         Support the development of research papers and presentations for publication.

•         Document project progress for monthly review meetings and external sharing.

•         Travel within or beyond program areas for 10–30% of the time.

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, up to Rs 75,000 per month for suitable candidates.
