Position: Junior Research Fellow / Research Associate
Number of Positions: One
Duration: One year and extendable subject to individual’s performance
Eligibility Required:
- Master's degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Additional academic background or experience in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Geographic Information System (GIS) and ArcGIS software.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and queries.
- Capability to manage environmental data analysis and spatial data visualization.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for scientific documentation and presentations.
- Prior experience or internships in research projects combining environmental studies and IT applications will be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of senior research team members, the Junior Research Fellow / Research Associate will:
- Assist in designing and conducting environmental research using GIS and database tools.
- Perform spatial analysis, database management, and data integration using ArcGIS and SQL.
- Prepare maps, reports, and presentations to communicate spatial and environmental data effectively.
- Support senior scientists in environmental data collection, management, and interpretation.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure efficient and accurate research outcomes.
- Engage in continuous learning and application of emerging GIS technologies and methods.
Remuneration:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, up to Rs 45,000 per month for suitable candidates.
