The Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a policy think tank dedicated to advancing research and knowledge dissemination in the areas of socio-economic development, policy analysis, and sustainable development. Position: Research Associate

Number of Position: One

Duration: One year and extendable subject to individual’s performance

Eligibility Required:

• Masters degree in Economics/Law and Governance/Public Policy/Development studies or in any social sciences discipline.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Interest in working with/liaisoning/communication simultaneously with grounded practice teams and academic researchers and multiple other stakeholders including Government officials and funders.
• Experience of one or more years of engagement or working on funded projects with national/international organization in research and development positions. Experience of liaising with diverse stakeholders and national/international donors and with all levels of government stakeholders will be viewed favourably.

• Good knowledge in diverse quantitative and qualitative economics and social science Research Methodology; Familiarity with evaluation and monitoring tools, sampling frame/ instruments relevant for indicators of interest.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative software tools such as SurveyCTO, STATA, SAS, NVivo would be an advantage.
• Strong writing skills - reports, research summaries, presentations, and academic papers. Proficiency in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel.

• Prior work experience in social sector for about one-two years.

Responsibilities:

The Research Associate will undertake the following roles and responsibilities of conducting research, specifically represented by but not limited to the details below, under the direction and guidance of the research lead:

1. Documentation of project work, learning and achievements.
2. Conducting Social Impact Assessment for land being acquired for any development project 
3. Travelling across Bihar as per the field requirement.
4. Providing training to a group of enumerators.
5. Assist in the preparation of research proposals, annual reports, case studies, briefs, presentation & other reports to interpret and disseminate outcomes and learnings
6. Prepare reports on findings / results from different research studies for communicating with stakeholders at various levels.
7. Support in developing and writing papers for publication and presentations.
8. Any other tasks as required by ADRI.

Remuneration

Salary will be commensurate with knowledge and experience, up to Rs 65,000 per month for suitable candidates.
