The Centre for Health Policy (CHP) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI), Patna, was established with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to strengthen the health sector in Bihar through a multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary approach. Position
Officer – Data Validation & Quality Control
Number of Positions: One
Duration: One year
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s/Post-Graduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Rural Development, Health Care Management, Hospital Management, Health Administration, Health Policy, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of research methodology, infectious and non-communicable diseases, associated risk factors, and the structure and functioning of India’s health system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Exposure to both qualitative and quantitative data analytics and relevant software (e.g., SAS, STATA, R, SPSS, ATLAS.ti, or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in content writing, data analysis, development of research tools, and conducting quality checks.
- Knowledge of health statistics, statistical methods, epidemiology, and health systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain continuous communication for all field activities.
- Provide training to key government functionaries and field investigators.
- Develop communication materials, compile daily data, and manage database configuration and checks.
- Conduct data quality checks, maintain quality control documentation, and ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols.
- ·Perform data cleaning tasks, including managing missing information, mapping, de-duplication, coding of open-ended responses, and dataset merging.
- Prepare data analysis/tabulation plans and conduct both qualitative and quantitative analyses to generate insights that guide program implementation.
- Collate and analyze secondary data from various sources.
- Contribute to preparation and dissemination of outputs, including scientific manuscripts and stakeholder reports.
- Build the capacity of program teams and government counterparts in data interpretation and data-driven decision-making.
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments as requested by government or donor agencies.
- Travel within or beyond program areas for approximately 10–30% of the time as required.
Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, up to Rs 50,000 per month for suitable candidates.
