Training on Rolling out of Integrated Health Information Platform in Bihar

Patna, 04 March 2021. The Centre for Health Policy (CHP), Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) organized and supported one-day training program on “Rolling out of Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) in Bihar” in co-ordination with the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) cell, State Health Society Bihar (SHSB) at Hotel Maurya, Patna.

The session was declared open with a welcome address by Dr. Ragini Mishra, State Surveillance Officer (SSO), SHSB. She provided important insights over IHIP, in which she focused and briefed how specific reporting format under IDSP (Presumptive Laboratory Syndromic/PLS- format), its timely reporting and village mapping are important for successfully rolling out of IHIP in Bihar. She also emphasized the primary role of IHIP in capturing real-time data, an essential step for the control of infectious disease. Mr. Rajesh Jha, Executive Director, CHP, ADRI also shared his views on IHPI and real-time data. Dr. Subramanya BP, RTC WHO also participated in the training program, and highlighted the importance of real-time data capture and thanked all participants and the State Surveillance Unit for their tremendous effort in rolling IHIP. He also thanked the CHP, ADRI for their continued support in IDSP strengthening in Bihar. The Central Surveillance Unit gave hands-on training on IHIP via online mode. Hands-on training related to data feeding in IHIP and associated challenges were addressed jointly by the Epidemiologist Jehanabad and Dr. Sanchita Mahapatra, Epidemiologist, CHP, ADRI. The training program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Ragini Mishra, SSO, Bihar and Dr. Sanchita Mahapatra, Epidemiologist, CHP ADRI.
