About Organization

The Centre for Environment, Energy and Climate Change (CEECC) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a research think-tank and an ENVIS Resource Partner under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India. The Centre’s research majorly focuseson Water Resource Management, Air Quality Management, and Climate Change Adaptation, Energy Efficiency and Governance, and Resource Sustainability. The Centre is looking for a qualified Programme Officer to carry out evidence-based policy research on Water and Climate Change in Bihar.

Desired Qualification

Bachelors of Technology or Engineering or Masters of Science in Environment, or Water, or Climate Change, or Natural Resources, or Forestry, or Sustainability, or equivalent discipline. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Scoping of potential water resource management and governance opportunities for policy-level interventions in Bihar;
  • Design and implement water and climate change policy advocacy pitch/ strategy in collaboration with the government and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Actively engage in establishing a network with institutions, organizations, etc. to identify potential project opportunity, and leverage research support on the ground;
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation, field-based surveys, data collection, data analysis, literature reviews, etc. as support to mapping progress of the programme implementation;

PreferredExperience and Skills

  • Experience of at least 2-3 years, working in the fields of environmental resources, or water management, or climate change adaptation or in the equivalent field;
  • Professional understanding of hydrology and meteorology, water quality monitoring, flood and drought forecasting, water auditing, etc.;
  • Data analysis and practical experience in working with GIS and statistical tools will be an advantage;
  • Excellent project management, communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities;
  • Academic writing skills like –articles, reports,project proposal, concept note, policy brief, memo, etc.
