Location: Patna, Bihar
Engagement: Full-Time
Duration: 1 year contract (extendable)
About Organization
The Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate (CSEC) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a research think-tank and an ENVIS Resource Partner under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). The Centre’s research work majorly revolves around water resources, air pollution, and climate change.
The Centre is looking for a motivated and skilled Research Associate to provide crucial research support to the evidence-based policy research in areas including, but not limited to climate change, and air pollution.
Key Responsibility
- Performing quantitative and qualitative research to prepare reports, concept notes, proposals, and synthesizing feedback/ comments into recommendations;
- Conducting field surveys and performing statistical analysis using analytical tools and modeling techniques to support the primary or secondary research;
- Preforming data collection and data mining to the development of scientific databases to support the preliminary research in the field of environment and climate change;
- Preparing essential research-based knowledge outcomes to support the training, awareness, and capacity building of the relevant stakeholders and interest groups;
- Contributing to the overall development of the organization, carrying out tasks assigned by the Centre.
Desired Skill
- Prior work experience of at least 2 years, direct involvement in research projects, handling survey data, data analysis, and academic writing in the relevant field;
- Working knowledge of climate change or air quality management, public policy, and programme monitoring & evaluation in the relevant field;
- Working proficiency in geostatistical tools and modeling software like Python, R, ArcGIS, etc. would be an advantage;
- Demonstrative writing skills like – report, research article, project proposal, blog, etc., and excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities are preferable.
Desired Qualification
Master's degree in disciplines like Public Policy, Environment, Development, Urban Planning, etc.
