About Organization

The Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate (CSEC) at Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a policy research think-tank and an Environmental Information, Awareness, Livelihood and Capacity Building Programme (EIACP) centre, under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), India. The Centre's research mandates focus on the domains of wetlands, climate change, water resources, data governance, training and outreach. The Centre is looking for a dynamic Programme Officer to contribute to the overall research and advocacy as per the programme mandates in Bihar.

Key Responsibilities

Overall, the Programme Officer is expected to be engaged in the implementation of EICAP and provide the necessary support to the research and dissemination of outcomes on the thematic mandates of water management and climate change. It is also expected that the Programme Officer will act as an coordinator of the programme to ensure annual outcomes and strategies implementation plan, satisfying evidence-based data and knowledge gaps as per the MoEFCC’s mandates. The individual is expected to coordinate with EICAP Team and ensure evidence-based policy research to prepare scientific outcomes such as thematic databases, newsletters, infographics, policy briefs, and articles, in addition to programme implementation in form of awareness, training and capacity building, etc. activities on regular basis.  

Desired Qualification

  • Masters or above in relevant disciplines such as environment, water, forestry or equivalent specialization;
  • More than 2 years of professional experience in programme implementation in the field of water resources or terrestrial wildlife and biodiversity or environment management or equivalent sector. First-hand experience working on a government project and with public institutions will be an advantage.

Remuneration

The position is purely contractual, and the consolidated monthly emolument will be Rs. 50, 000 which is negotiable depending upon relevant experience and skills.
