About Organization

The Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate Change (CSEC) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a research think-tank and an ENVIS Resource Partner, under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India. The Centre’s research majorly focuses on Water Resource Management, Air Quality Management, Climate Change and Vulnerability, Public Finance and Governance, and Resource Sustainability.

The Centre is looking for a qualified ‘Research Coordinator’ to carry out policy-based research in the field of environment and climate change, with a special reference to the climate vulnerability and mitigation in the eastern regions of Indian-subcontinent.

Desired Qualification

Master’s degree in the field of Environment or Water or Climate Change or Development Studies or Public Policy or in any equivalent discipline. 

Expected Engagement

  • Major involvement is expected to be in designing research methodology and generating scientific policy evidences for dissemination of relevant knowledge outcomes on climate change vulnerability and mitigation in eastern region of Indian subcontinent;
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation, field-based investigations, data collection, data analysis, literature reviews, etc. as support to mapping progress of the program implementation on the ground;
  • Developing interdisciplinary awareness and capacity building toolkits climate change governance for stakeholders like public institutions, corporates, students, civil society organizations, etc.;
  • Actively engage in liaising with different institutions/ organizations to gather data and other relevant information’s pertaining to the project requirements and to facilitate different scholarly events such workshops, training, conferences, etc.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience of at least 2-3 years, working in the fields of public policy and governance, with special focus on environment and climate change adaptation or in the equivalent field;
  • Professional understanding of program monitoring and evaluation, academic report writing like– articles, reports, project proposal, concept note, policy brief, memo, etc., field investigation, data synthetization and interpretation, etc.;
  • Excellent project management, communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities;
