Events of ADRI Patna

Patna. June 11. While participating in the Asian Development Research Institute’s (ADRI’s) two-day Innovation Workshop held in the memory of its founders― Dr. Shaibal Gupta and Dr. Prabhat P Ghosh ― today, ADRI faculty member Dr. Mousumi Gupta, a data science expert, gave a talk titled “Pattern Recognition” on how she was able to marshal data while pursuing her studies in Sikkim to predict where landslides will occur more frequently. This was followed by an explanatory talk on how to do systematic reviews and meta-analysis for budding researchers by Danish Razdan and Neha Gupta of ADRI.
Earlier, the Member-Secretary of ADRI, Dr. Ashmita Gupta welcomed all the participants. ADRI’s Pooja Kumari elaborated on “CSEC-EIACP ADRI: Establishment and Key Activities”. EIACP is the Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Program and is based at the Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate Change (CSEC) of ADRI. They are under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoE & CC), New Delhi. She talked about the green skills development programs being run by CSEC as well as the awareness programs for people from all walks of life. This was followed by a talk on “Public Health Research: Framing and Methodologies” by Dr. Sanchita Mahapatra of the Centre for Health Policy (CHP) at ADRI. While speaking on the occasion, Ms. Devopriya Dutta from Patna’s bio-reserve Taru Mitra held out for the need to create ecological sensitivity among people.
A cultural program was then organized to mark the end of the day’s events, which was attended virtually and in the in-person mode by distinguished scholars and prospective young researchers.
