Breath Healthy and Be Healthy
05 May 2026

Patna. 5th May. In yet another honest attempt to create environmental awakening among the masses, the government of India’s MoEFCC-supported EIACP unit of Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) organized a talk show carrying the slogan of Breath Healthy and Be Healthy at the bio-reserve of TaruMitra or “Friends of Tress” today. MoEFCC stands for the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. This program was part of the Mission LiFE movement.

Air is vital to our existence and its pollution has become our most grave environmental problem. In order to tackle it, Dr. Sunil Gupta, EIACP Coordinator suggested in his talk that this sanctuary be followed as a role model. He cited the April 2026 figures for PM 2.5 levels in air above this man-made forest, which stood at 44 µg/mand was very much within the acceptable limits of 60 µg/m3This was in stark contrast to Patna’s air, which was akin to a gas chamber, at that point of time. He also gave a presentation on various devices used to monitor air pollution.

Also, students of Amity University presented models as part of a lively presentation on rain water harvesting, bio-gas plants, water purification systems and the Panch Sokha(a kind of soak pit). This exhibition was judged by Member-Secretary of ADRI, Dr. Ashmita Gupta, who also dwelt on how to do environmental research and its significance as a whole. Board Member of ADRI Shree Neeraj Prakash also explained how to employ new technologies, like Artificial Intelligence.

TaruMitra’s Devo Priya Dutta and EIACP-ADRI’s Gulshan Patel and Mausam Bahar also participated actively in this event.
