Workshop of the Private empanelled hospitals on Anti-Fraud and Quality Documentation under AB-PMJAY. Participants: Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur and Sitamarhi

A one-day workshop on “Anti-Fraud and Quality Documentation” for empaneled private hospitals was organized today at Darbhanga under the joint aegis of the Bihar Swasthya Suraksha Samiti (BSSS) and the Centre for Health Policy – ADRI (CHP–ADRI). Representatives of private hospitals, senior doctors, and health sector experts from Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, and Sitamarhi districts participated in the workshop.

The primary objective of the workshop was to strengthen anti-fraud mechanisms under the Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Mukhyamantri Jan Aarogya Yojna (MM-JAY), enhance quality documentation, and ensure compliance with Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) and Health Benefit Packages (HBPs). The workshop commenced with a welcome address and presentation of objectives by Dr. Alok Ranjan, Director (Operations), BSSS. The programme was graced by Dr. Arun Kumar, Civil Surgeon, Darbhanga as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Alka Jha, Principal, DMCH, Darbhanga as the Special Guest. Presiding over the workshop, Shri Shailesh Chandra Diwakar, Administrative Officer, BSSS, delivered the keynote address on anti-fraud measures and apprised participants of the necessary compliance procedures for fraud prevention. During various technical sessions, Dr. Gurinder Randhawa, Consultant, CHP–ADRI and Dr. Alok Ranjan discussed fraud prevention strategies, quality documentation, and relevant case studies. Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Director-Healthcare, BSSS, elaborated on protocol compliance related to Standard Treatment Guidelines and Health Benefit Packages. Additionally, the District IDSP Cell and ADRI team sensitized participants on the use of the IHIP portal for real-time reporting.

In the concluding session, participants shared their experiences, challenges, and suggestions related to the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The programme was conducted by Indrajit Goswami, ADRI. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Suraj Shankar, Team Lead, Centre for Health Policy CHP–ADRI, who stated that the valuable suggestions received would be instrumental in strengthening effective implementation of the scheme and anti-fraud measures.

Officials from the District Implementation Units, including DPC–Ayushman Bharat from Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, and Sitamarhi districts, along with the ADRI team members Indrajit Goswami, Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Pawan Kumar Lal, Krishna Pandey, Sameer Kumar Sinha, Ankit Kumar Sinha and others were present on the occasion.
