On the occasion of World Ozone Day Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate, ADRI an EIACP Resource Partner on Water Management and Climate Change is organizing a Quiz Competition.

Montreal Protocol: fixing the ozone layer and reducing climate change

Patna, September 15. The Environment, Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Program (EIACP) Centre at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI), Patna organized an Inter-College Quiz Competition today on the occasion of “World Ozone Day 2023”. This event's objective was to remind the youth about the detrimental effects of Ozone layer depletion and how an environmentally-conscious lifestyle can solve many of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century, including climate change. The event also sensitized the audience about the India-led global movement of Mission Lifestyle for Environment (Mission LiFE).

A total of 25 students from A.N College, College of Commerce, Arts and Science, and Patna University participated in the event. The students were grouped into teams named after Panchatatva (nectar elements). Team Vayu (Air) from the Department of Environmental Science at A.N College, Patna came first in the competition, followed by Team Prithvi (Department of Chemistry) from the same college. The winners and runner-ups were rewarded with trophies and certificates. The event also included an interactive discussion on the health impact of Ozone layer depletion and air quality deterioration due to ozone pollution by Mr. Subham Bhattacharya, Mr. Anup Bhagat, and Mr. Alam from the Centre for Health and Policy (CHP) at ADRI. The event concluded with the administration of the Mission LiFE pledge and LiFE selfies.
